Collaborating With Industry

APCO is working closely with more than 1,600 Member organisations from across 153 sectors to deliver the 2025 National Packaging Targets and build a circular economy for packaging in Australia.

We also run a dedicated program of sectoral projects to drive change in the areas where we can make the biggest difference. Our priority sector projects include:

  • Food and beverage
  • Retail
  • Wine
  • Dairy
  • Medical
  • Horticulture industries.

Each project is underpinned by a detailed research and evidence base to first understand that sector’s unique sustainability challenges, and secondly build highly tailored insights, resources and solutions.

Our approach to change – utilising the Collective Impact Framework – enables us to engage each sector’s critical businesses, organisations and industry associations, and coordinate their efforts towards a common vision for sustainable packaging. Critically the projects are industry-led, with APCO providing the project administration, resources and expertise. This effective approach empowers industry representatives to take ownership long-term and lead the sustainable packaging change needed for their community.

In addition to our sectoral projects, our team of packaging sustainability experts also regularly attends a range of sector focused events, conferences and industry association panel and roundtables.
