Value & Description:
This program supports projects which improve the capability, capacity, and availability of resource recovery facilities, equipment, and systems. Priority materials include plastic products and packaging.
Funding between $50,000 to $500,000.
Requires a 25% cash or in-kind contribution from the applicant towards total project expenditure.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must currently operate a landfill and/or resource recovery facility in Tasmania that receives more than 1000 tonnes of materials per year.
Eligible projects must:
- Be geographically located in Tasmania
- Be for the benefit of Tasmanians
- Improve the capability and/or availability of facilities, equipment and/or systems in support of the grant objectives
- Support the grant objectives to some degree
- Involve at least one priority material (e.g. plastic products and packaging).

Waste Resource Recovery Board Sponsorship Program TAS
Value & Description:
Sponsorship of up to $10,000.
Sponsorships are available for projects and events that demonstrate and road-test innovation, produce improved resource streams and circular supply chains, and deliver better services, products and outcomes for Tasmania.

Eligibility Criteria:
Tasmanian waste management organisations.
Eligible sponsorship proponents must:
- be located in, and have substantial operations within Tasmania to nominate the principal applicant
- have a track record of operating legally in accordance with relevant environmental and planning permits
- disclose any past convictions contravening any environmental management or land use planning legislation in the last 5 years
- be able to demonstrate appropriate Work Cover and public liability insurance for the proposed project.
Eligible sponsorship proposals must:
- be geographically located in Tasmania, and be for the benefit of Tasmanians
- include project activities that will improve collection, sorting, reuse, repair, processing, recycling and/or remanufacturing capacity in Tasmania
- include relevant business planning commensurate with the scale, purpose and potential risks associated with the project, activity or organisation
- include projects, acquisitions and activities relating to improved facilities, equipment and/or systems
- include details of waste avoidance/reduction/reuse/recycling measures being incorporated into the project delivery.

Advanced Manufacturing Productivity Grant Program
Value & Description:
Maximum grant available is $20,000 per application.
Minimum grant available is $1,500 per application.
Maximum grant cap per financial year is $40,000.
Total funding pool is $450,000.
Applicants may apply for a second grant during the financial year for a different project.
This program is for Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprises to undertake a variety of productivity enhancing activities such as obtaining accreditations expert advice and developing staff and business skills.

Eligibility Criteria:
Funding can be spent on business improvement activities, including advice on improving business sustainability through benchmarking and the identification of cost benefits including implementing carbon and waste reduction initiatives.
Eligible organisations must:
- be able to demonstrate that you are a Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprise, or a high tech, Tasmanian based business that supports manufacturing inputs such as software or component development necessary for an advanced project.
- have an Australian Business Number and be registered for GST
- not receive in excess of $40,000 per financial year under this program
- have demonstrated manufacturing sales turnover greater than $500,000 and less than $55 million in at least one of the last two financial years
- not be a consultant or intermediary

Value & Description:
This program provides eligible Tasmanian small beverage producers with funding to help with the costs associated with container approvals and container label updating and printing to align with Tasmania's Recycle Rewards CDS scheme.

- have produced up to a maximum of 250,000 litres of beverages in total in the last financial year 2023-24.

- applications for the approval of a class of containers
- costs for obtaining barcodes to be displayed on eligible containers
- costs for the design of labels that display a barcode and/or the refund marking on eligible containers
- costs for the printing of labels that display a barcode and/or the refund marking on eligible containers.

Value & Description:

The Sustainable Business Solutions (SuBS) grant provides funding to businesses to buy equipment or technology that reduces waste.

Eligible organisations must:
- be a Territory enterprise — a for-profit or not-for-profit business
- have been operating in the Northern Territory (NT) for more than 12 months
- have an existing commercial waste collection service at a site in the NT
- be fully compliant with its obligations under its governing legislation
- not be an excluded applicant.
The equipment or technology can:
- avoid or prevent waste from being generated on site
- reuse waste on site or by another business
- improve source separation and facilitate waste recycling.

Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy 2041 (WASM) Litter Prevention Grants Program
Value & Description:
Up to $10 million available from 2022 to 2027 - funding is provided under 3 streams:
Stream 1: On-ground projects - up to $85,000
Stream 1: Cigarette butt litter program - up to $40,000
Stream 1: One-off Clean-ups - up to $5,000
Stream 2: Strategic development and capacity building - up to $100,000
Stream 3: Own It and Act strategic implementation - up to $450,000.
This program aims to facilitate action and inspire leadership in litter prevention.

Eligible organisations must:
- be a local council, regional waste group, community organisation or an alliance or State Government agency located in NSW. Businesses are eligible to apply for cigarette butt litter and clean-up projects only. Schools may apply for clean-up grants (refer to Table 1)
- have a project/initiative that is geographically located in NSW
- be able to deliver an initiative that is in line with the program objectives, as determined by the TRC
- be able to maintain reliable financial records and separately account for grant funds
- Community organisations must:
- be a non-government, not-for-profit organisation
- have their own constitution and be incorporated under the law of a state or territory as an incorporated association, company or cooperative society
- hold an Australian Business Number (ABN)

Bin Trim Equipment Rebates program
Value & Description:
$6 million total available over 3 years.
To increase workplace recycling, the Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy provides businesses with rebates covering up to 50% of the cost of small-scale, on-site recycling equipment or technology that helps them to avoid, reduce, reuse, or recycle their waste.

Eligibility Criteria:
Businesses applying for the Rebates Program must:
- have a commercial and industrial (C&I) waste service at a site in NSW
- have a valid ABN and employ one or more full-time employees in NSW, and
- send C&I waste to landfill in NSW.
Businesses can include entities that are registered charities, not-for-profits, public entities (including schools and hospitals), and government organisations.
Businesses can apply for a free waste assessment to avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle more.

NSW Sustainable Communities Program Early Investment Round Program
Value & Description:
The Sustainable Communities Program will support and strengthen NSW Basin communities through the creation of new jobs, increased innovation, productivity and diversification and the up skilling of local workers to help sustain communities into the future.
Funding between $50,000 (GST exclusive) and $1 million (GST exclusive) for programs and initiatives and capital investment projects.
Funding between $250,000 (GST exclusive) and $4 million (GST exclusive) for infrastructure projects.
Total funding $15 million (GST exclusive)
All applicants must provide a minimum of 50% of the requested funding in cash

Queensland Circular economy including resource recovery and recycling projects.
To be eligible, applicant organisations must:
- be a legal entity and hold an active Australian business number (ABN) or Australian registered body number (ARBN)
- have the financial ability to deliver the project, including having a financial history of 3 years or more
- have a history of regulatory compliance including development and environmental approvals and relevant legislation.
Projects must also meet the following criteria:
- be located in Queensland
- be aligned with priority areas for funding
- be unlikely to proceed without assistance, or, if the project is a discrete stage in a multi-stage project, it can be demonstrated that future stages will be brought forward
- not be already commenced, for example construction or operation
- have a viable plan to achieve sustainable commercial operation.
