Board update – Brand Owner Director appointment

The Brand Owner Director position held by Margaret Stuart in connection with her role at Nestlé became a casual vacancy under APCO’s Constitution following the conclusion of Margaret’s employment with Nestlé. 

 

To support continuity of Board expertise and value chain representation, APCO’s Board appointed Margaret to fill the casual vacancy as an Industry Expert, in accordance with clause 38.2 of the Constitution, with Nestlé’s endorsement. 

 

Margaret is an experienced corporate affairs, sustainability and public policy leader. During her 14-year tenure at Nestlé, she held senior roles including Director – Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Oceania, and later worked within Nestlé’s global Public Affairs team. Since joining APCO’s Board in July 2022, Margaret has been a valued contributor to APCO’s governance and strategic direction. 

 

Margaret also serves as a member of the Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group within the Attorney-General’s Department, advising the Australian Government on issues around the operation of the Modern Slavery Act 2018

 

Margaret’s appointment commenced on 1 January 2026, and will continue until the 2026 Annual General Meeting, or the next General Meeting of the company, whichever occurs first.
